About

I’m Mia!

I’m a Webby Award-winning creative strategist, writer, and filmmaker. And I’m looking for my next gig.

My most recent role with Amazon Prime Video’s short form team allowed me to utilize my creative and analytical skills concurrently, which is my happy place. I pitched creative concepts, wrote scripts for promotional content, created and maintained databases, improved workflows, and quality checked videos. It was here that I fell in love with Airtable. I’m a tools and process nerd.

Prior to Amazon Prime Video, I worked in post-production at BuzzFeed. Over time, I began to offer suggestions to the product team on how to improve our internal tools so that there would be fewer user errors and more efficiency. This led to a cross-team collaboration where we worked together to test and launch a new tool for the entire video department. It was here that I realized how much I loved improving processes and how my creative mind helped fuel my analytical one.

In addition to my work with social media brands, I am also a documentary filmmaker. My short APATHY IS NOT AN OPTION was produced in association with Asian American Documentary Network and played at CAAMFest and New Orleans Film Festival. My second documentary project is currently in production.

I’m currently an Archives Artist-In-Residence with Visual Communications. In collaboration with Nikkei for Civil Rights & Redress (NCRR), a grassroots organization integral to the Japanese American fight for redress, I’m focusing primarily on activating and adding to the archives. My multimedia exhibit about NCRR will debut at ArtCore during the 2026 Los Angeles Asian American Film Festival.

In my free time, you can find me at rehearsals with the Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles, organizing with Nikkei Progressives, doing jigsaw puzzles, and going to karaoke. Let’s talk go-to karaoke songs!
